- 6th edition of the BRICS Film Festival awards was announced at the 52nd International Film Festival of India in Goa. For the first time, BRICS Film Festival was held alongside IFFI during November 20 to November 28, 2021.
- Best film Award was shared by South African Film “Barakat” and Russian Film “The Sun above me Never Sets”.
- Barakat has been directed by Amy Jephta while The Sun above Me Never Sets has been directed by Lyubov Borisova.
- These films were awarded for their brilliant cinematic portrayal of human emotions as well as magnificent storytelling on screen.
