- Microsoft Co-founder Bill Gates was presented the Hilal-e-Pakistan award by Pakistan President Arif Alvi.
- The award was given to him for his contribution to “eradication of polio and the betterment of the people” of the country.
- The honor, which is Pakistan’s second highest regular civilian award, was given to Gates on his very first visit to Pakistan.
- PM Imran Khan additionally facilitated a luncheon in honour of Gates.
