New MD and CEO of Air India

• Former Turkish Airlines chairman Ilkar Aysi has been appointed as the new CEO and MD of Air India.

• Ilkar IC will assume his new role on or before April 1, 2022.

• In 2015, he was appointed chairman of Turkish Airlines.

• After serving for seven years, he resigned from his post on 26 January 2022.

• Currently, Tata AI, AI Express, Vistara and AirAsia are operating India airlines.
