NATO Secretary General's term extended

• The term of 63-year-old Jens Stollenberg, the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), has been extended by one year till September 30, 2023.

• His term was ending this September.

• Norway's former prime minister was named to NATO's top civilian post in October 2014.

• This is the second time that his term has been extended.

• Stoltenberg was the Prime Minister of Norway twice, from 2005 to 2013 and from 2002 to 2014.
