Laureus Sportsman of the Year 2022

• Formula One champion Max Verstappen has been named the 2022 Laureus Sportsman of the Year and Jamaican Olympic sprinter Ellen Thompson-Hera has been named Laureus Sportswoman of the Year.

• The awards recognize the greatest sporting achievements of 2021.

• One of the achievements of the previous year was the victory of the European Championship by the Italian men's football team, which resulted in their second Laureus Team of the Year award.
