Country's New Chief Election Commissioner

• Rajiv Kumar was appointed as the 25th Chief Election Commissioner of the country.

• He will assume office on May 15, 2022.

• He will replace Sushil Chandra in this post.

• As per clause (2) of Article 324 of the Constitution, the President has appointed Shri Rajiv Kumar as the Chief Election Commissioner with effect from 15 May 2022.

•  The Senior Election Commissioner is appointed as the Chief Election Commissioner.
