World Food Prize 2022

  • The World Food Prize Foundation announced the name of Dr. Cynthia Rosenzweig from the United States of America as the winner of the World Food Prize 2022.
  • Rosenzweig was selected for the award for his research 'Understanding the relationship between climate and food systems and how both will change and forecast in the future'.
  • Leading nutritionist Dr. Shakuntala Harak Singh Thilstad won the award in the year 2021 and Dr. Ratan Lal, an Indian American soil scientist won the award in the year 2020.
  • The World Food Prize is a major international honor to recognize the achievements of individuals who have advanced human development by improving the quality, quantity or availability of food in the world.
