- Leading nutritionist Dr. Shakuntala Harak Singh Thilstad won the award in the year 2021 and Dr. Ratan Lal, an Indian American soil scientist won the award in the year 2020.
- The World Food Prize is a major international honor to recognize the achievements of individuals who have advanced human development by improving the quality, quantity or availability of food in the world.
