Akash Ambani to be new chairman of Jio

• Akash Ambani, the eldest son of Mukesh Ambani, will take over as the chairman of the board of Jio Infocomm, the digital division of Reliance Industries.

• Jio Infocomm is a subsidiary of the main company Jio Platforms.

• Prior to this, Akash Ambani was working as a non-executive director on the board.

• 65-year-old billionaire Mukesh Ambani has resigned from the post of company director on June 27.
