- The 74-day tenure of Justice UU Lalit will begin from today.
- The tenure of UU Lalit will be for a total of 74 days (till 8 November 2022).
- Justice Lalit will retire as CJI after 74 days on November 8.
- After this, Justice Chandrachud will be appointed as the 50th Chief Justice. His term will be for two full years.
