- Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has resigned from the post of Chief Minister.
- JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar met Governor Fagu Chauhan at Raj Bhavan and submitted his resignation to him.
- He also handed over letters of support of 160 MLAs to stake claim to form the new government.
- In the 243-member Bihar Assembly, the BJP has 77 MLAs, JD(U) 45, Congress 19, CPIML(L)-led Left 16 and RJD 79.
