EPFO Face authentication scheme for pensioners

  • The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), inaugurated the “Face Authentication Scheme for Pensioners”. 
  • The scheme will allow more than 73 lakh pensioners to submit digital life certificate, by using the face authentication technology from anywhere.
  • Under the scheme, face recognition authentication will help the aged pensioners, for whom it gets difficult to get their bio-metrics (Fingerprint & Iris scan) to file the life certificate.
  • This technology was launched by Union Minister of Labour and Employment Bhupender Yadav.
  • Bhupender Yadav also chairs the apex decision making body of EPFO- the Central Board of Trustees.
