- External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar unveiled a statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Paraguay during his first official visit to South America.
- He also praised the decision of Asuncion Municipality to put the statue of Mahatma Gandhi on the main bank of the city.
- External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is on an official visit to Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina from 22-27 August.
- Along with this External Affairs Minister inaugurated the premises of the newly opened Indian Embassy which started functioning in January 2022 in Paraguay.
