• Renewable Energy Day is observed every year on 20 August to raise awareness about the developments related to the adoption of renewable energy in India.

• As Earth's resources are depleting at an alarming rate every day, it becomes important to celebrate Renewable Energy Day.

• Its aim is to make people aware about the use of natural resources like hydro power, solar energy, wind energy and biogas.

• Renewable Energy Day was established in 2004 with the goal of supporting renewable energy development programs and promoting their use instead of using conventional sources of energy.
