ICC made changes in the rules of cricket



  • The main changes in the rules of the game will be effective from 1 October 2022.

  • According to the new rules, 'Mankad' will not be considered an unfair game, it will be considered a valid run out.
  • The ICC has banned the use of saliva to shine the ball. The ICC had banned the use of saliva for the first time in the year 2020.
  • According to the new rule, the incoming batsman has to be ready to face the ball within two minutes of reaching the pitch.
  • Earlier a batsman was given three minutes to take strike in ODIs and Tests.
  • Now if a batsman is out, then the new batsman to come will have to take the strike.
  • A batsman must keep his bat or some part of his body inside the pitch while facing the delivery.
  •  If a batsman stands outside the pitch, the ball is called a dead ball.
  • Five runs shall be awarded to the batting side when the bowler is running to bowl and if the fielding side distracts the batsman by any improper or intentional move.
