New Director General of CRPF

• Sujoy Lal Thosen took over as the 37th Director General of CRPF.

• Sujoy Lal Thosen took over in a ceremonial ceremony followed by a guard of honour.

• He is a 1988 batch IPS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre.

• Earlier, he was holding the additional charge of the Director General of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) as well as the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) chief.

• The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) appointed Sujoy Lal Thosen on 30 September following the retirement of Kuldeep Singh.

• He will continue to be the chief of CRPF till his retirement on November 30, 2023 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
