Guru Tegh Bahadur shaheedi diwas

• Guru Tegh Bahadur Shaheedi diwas was celebrated on 24 November 2022.

• He is the ninth Guru of Sikhism. His shaheedi diwas is observed as shaheedi diwas every year.

• On this day, in 1675, he was executed in Delhi by the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb for refusing to convert to Islam.

• President Draupadi Murmu in her message said that it has been rightly said about her that 'Sar diya par saar na diya'.

• He was born Guru Tegh Bahadur in April 1621 in Amritsar, Punjab. He built the city of Anandpur Sahib in Punjab.
