- Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) is going to develop India’s first multi-modal logistics park (MMLP) near Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
- The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) had awarded RIL the contract to set up India’s first multi-modal logistics park (MMLP) close to Chennai.
- The Rs.1,424 project will be implemented under the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, which was launched in October 2021.
- The model concession agreement for this project is on a Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Transfer (DBFOT) model.
- The total concession period for the project is 45 years.
- The MMLP will be developed in 3 phases with the estimated developer investment of Rs.783 crore.
- The first phase will be completed by 2025.
