India's first private rocket

  • India's first private rocket was launched on 18 November 2022 from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.
  • It is a single stage solid fueled rocket.
  • It is equipped with sensors to secure the data.
  • Startup Skyroot Aerospace Pvt Ltd developed Vikram suborbital rocket.
  • The weight of the rocket is 550 kg. It will reach a maximum altitude of 101 km.
  • It is expected to splash down in the sea after a total duration of 300 seconds after launch.
  • The mission will initially carry three customer payloads. The payloads are Space Kidz India, Bazoomk Armenia and N-Space Tech India.
  • Skyroot was the first startup to sign an MoU with ISRO to launch its rockets.
