Mughal Gardens renamed as Amrit Udyan



  • The Mughal Garden of Delhi has been renamed as Amrit Udyan.
  • The central government renamed the Mughal Garden at Rashtrapati Bhavan in line with the theme of Amrit Mahotsav.
  • President Draupadi Murmu inaugurated Amrit Udyan on 29 January 2023.
  • It will be open to the public for two months from January 31 to March 26.
  • It is usually open for public viewing for a month from February to March.
  • It is also planned that the garden will be kept open from March 28 to March 31 for viewing by special groups such as farmers and the disabled.
  • Rectangular, long and circular gardens, herbal gardens, musical gardens and spiritual gardens make up the Mughal Gardens. It was built by Sir Edward Lutyens.
