• National Maritime Day 2023 is the 60th edition of National Maritime Day.

• NMD Award of Excellence is given on this day.

• The Sagar Samman Varun Award is also given on this day to honor people who have made outstanding contributions to the Indian maritime sector.

• The theme of National Maritime Week 2023 is "Amrit Kaal in Shipping".
