Kerala declared fully e-governance state

  • On 25 May, Kerala was declared a full e-governance state by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
  • This is a major step in Kerala's journey towards achieving 100% digital literacy.
  • Strengthening e-governance in the state is part of using advanced technology to deliver government services to the people and the government aims to bridge the digital divide in society.
  • Apart from digitizing the delivery of government services to the people, 100 per cent e-governance will ensure inclusion of all sections of the society.
  • The government has created a single window service delivery system called e-Sevanam which integrates over 800 government services online.
  • Additionally, the State IT Mission has developed several digital platforms and applications such as e-Office File Flow.
