- On July 15, retired IAS officer Arvind Kumar has been appointed as the new chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPERC).
- He has been appointed for a term of five years from the date of appointment or till he attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.
- He succeeds Raj Pratap Singh, who completed his term as the Speaker on June 30.
- After his retirement in February 2023, Kumar was appointed as advisor on industries to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
