- DGNSS is a ground-based augmentation system that corrects errors and inaccuracies in the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS).
- 'Sagar Sampark' DGNSS has been launched at six locations under the Directorate General of Lighthouses and Lightships (DGLL).
- DGNSS will enhance DGLL's capability in the area of Radio Aid to Maritime Navigation.
- DGNSS will help seafarers in safe navigation and reduce the risk of collisions, groundings and accidents in port and harbor areas.
- This will make the movement of ships more efficient and safer. DGNSS is an important step towards fulfillment of international obligations.
