Exercise AUSINDEX 2023

  • The 5th edition of AusIndex was held in Sydney from 22-25 August.
  • The Indian Navy and the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) participated in the 5th edition of the Ocean Index (AUSINDEX) in Sydney.
  • From the Indian side, INS Sahyadri and INS Kolkata participated in the exercise.
  • HMAS Chawls and HMAS Brisbane participated from the Royal Australian Navy side in the exercise.
  • Fighter aircraft and maritime patrol aircraft also participated in the exercise.
  • AUSINDEX consisted of a series of complex exercises in all three areas of maritime operations.
  • The main objective of the exercise was to reaffirm the close relationship and interoperability between the Indian Navy and the RAN.
