• National Small Industries Day is celebrated every year on 30 August.

• It recognizes the contribution of small industries in the development of the country.

• This is an opportunity for the Central and State Governments to encourage and support small industries.

• The Central Government formally declared 30 August as National Small Industries Day in 2001.

• A comprehensive policy package for small businesses was announced by the Ministry of Small Scale Industries on 30 August 2000.
