- SIMBEX-2023 is being organized in two phases. The harbor phase will take place from 21 to 24 September 2023 and will be followed by the sea phase.
- Indian Naval ships Ranvijay and Kavaratti and submarine INS Sindhukesari are participating in the exercise.
- India's long range maritime patrol aircraft P8I is also participating in this exercise.
- Professional talks, cross-deck visits, subject matter expert exchanges (SMEEs) and a wide range of sporting fixtures are part of the Harbor Stage.
- Its main objective is to enhance interoperability and mutual understanding between the navies of India and Singapore.
- Complex and advanced air defense exercises, gunnery firing, tactical manoeuvres, anti-submarine exercises and other maritime operations will be part of the sea phase of SIMBEX 23.
- India and Singapore have been conducting SIMBEX exercises since 1994. This is the longest naval exercise conducted by the Indian Navy with any other country.
