- Exercise KAZIND-2023 between India and Kazakhstan began on October 30 in Otar, Kazakhstan.
- To participate in this, a team of 120 members of the Indian Army and Air Force had left for Kazakhstan on 29 October.
- This exercise will continue till 11th November next month.
- The Indian Army contingent includes 90 soldiers of the battalion of Dogra Regiment.
- While the Kazakhstan contingent includes soldiers from the Southern Regional Command of the Kazakh Ground Forces.
- Apart from the military contingent, thirty each from the Air Force of both the countries are also taking part in this exercise.
- In 2016, India and Kazakhstan launched this joint exercise known as 'Exercise Prabal Dostik'.
- After the second edition, it was renamed 'Exercise Kazind' and the exercise was upgraded to a company-level exercise.
- This year the exercise has been upgraded to a bi-service exercise by including the Air Force component.
- In this year's exercise, both the countries will practice anti-terrorism operations as per the mandate of the United Nations.
