- India's rank in the Global Pension Index 2023 has dropped to 45th out of 47 countries.
- In 2022, India was ranked 41st among 44 countries. In 2021, India was ranked 40th out of 43 countries.
- India's score improved slightly from 44.4 in 2022 to 45.9 in 2023.
- The report said the improvement in India's score was mainly due to improvements in the adequacy and sustainability sub-indices.
- Netherlands ranks first globally. This is followed by Iceland and Denmark. Argentina ranks last in the index.
- Mercer and CFA Institute have released the 15th annual Mercer CFA Institute Global Pension Index (MCGPI).
- The Netherlands had the highest overall index value (85.0). Iceland's overall index value was 83.5.
- Denmark's overall index value was 81.3. Argentina had the lowest index value (42.3).
- The 2023 Global Pension Index compares 47 retirement income systems. It contains 64% of the world's population.
