National Milk Day 2023

• National Milk Day is celebrated every year on 26 November in India.

• This day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Verghese Kurien.

• He is known as the father of White Revolution in India. He is also known as "Milkman of India".

• It was started by IDA (Indian Dairy Association) in the year 2014. The first National Milk Day in India was celebrated on 26 November 2014.

• The National Gopal Ratna Award 2023 was also presented by Union Minister Parshottam Rupala in Guwahati, Assam on November 26.

• National Gopal Ratna Award is one of the highest national awards in the livestock and dairy sector.
