New Chief Information Commissioner

• Hiralal Samaria was appointed to the post of Chief Information Commissioner.

• President Draupadi Murmu administered the oath of office to Hiralal Samaria as Chief Information Commissioner.

• Hiralal Samaria was currently working as Information Commissioner in the Central Information Commission.

• He was appointed as the Information Commissioner on November 7, 2020. He is a 1985 batch officer of Telangana cadre.

• At present, there are two Information Commissioners while the posts of eight Information Commissioners are vacant.
