Wildlife Photographer of the Year

  • Vihaan Talya Vikas, a 10-year-old boy from Bengaluru, won the Wildlife Photographer of the Year (WPY) competition in the under-10 category.
  • Vihaan's photo captures a spider in an interesting position with the statue of Lord Krishna located on the outskirts of Bengaluru.
  • This photo has been selected from 50,000 entries from 95 countries.
  • Vihaan's photograph will form part of the prestigious WPY59 collection and will be displayed at the upcoming Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Natural History Museum.
  • The exhibition will be held at 25 locations across four continents. The main objective of the exhibition is to raise awareness about the need for wildlife conservation.
  • The Natural History Museum organizes this competition every year. It is also called the 'Oscar of photography'.
  • It is a global platform to showcase the world's most extraordinary wildlife photography.
