- Former Railway Board Chairman and CEO Anil Kumar Lahoti became the new Chairman of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
- The post was vacant for four months after the retirement of PD Vaghela on September 30.
- Anil Kumar Lahoti will hold the charge of the post for three years from the date of assumption of charge or till he attains the age of 65 years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
- During his 36-year career in the Railways, he served in various positions in the Central, Northern, North Central, Western and West Central Railways and the Railway Board.
