9th GovTech Awards

• At the World Government Summit 2024, India won the prestigious 9th Government Award for its efforts in Artificial Intelligence (AI) driven government services.

• India won the award under the category of 'AI-powered government services'.

• The award has been presented in recognition of the 'iRASTE' project of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

• This initiative is a collaborative effort of government, industry and academia. Its main objective is to reduce an estimated 50% of road accidents in urban areas.

• Additionally, iRASTE aims to reduce black spots within the city's road network.
