Vladimir Putin becomes President of Russia for the fifth time

• He received another six-year term with 87 percent of the vote. Other candidates got less than 5 percent of the votes.

• Communist candidate Nikolai Kharitonov came second and Vladislav Davankov came third.

• Vladimir Putin will become the longest-serving Russian leader since Catherine the Great in the 1700s.
