• Sikkim celebrates the Saga Dawa festival on the 15th day of the fourth month of the Northern Buddhist calendar.

• Saga Dawa is considered the most sacred Buddhist festival.

• The occasion celebrates the birth, enlightenment and Mahaparinirvana (death) of Buddha.

• This day is also known as 'Triple Blessed Occasion'.
