UNICEF India's new ambassador

  • On May 5, UNICEF India appointed Kareena Kapoor as its National Ambassador.
  • Kareena Kapoor has been associated with UNICEF India since 2014 and has worked on issues like girls' education, gender equality, basic education, vaccination and breastfeeding.
  • As an ambassador, Kareena Kapoor Khan will support UNICEF India in advancing every child's right to early childhood development, health, education and gender equality.
  • Additionally, she has played a key role in several global campaigns for UNICEF on #EveryChildRights.
  • At the same event, UNICEF India also announced the appointment of its first Youth Advocate, who is a peer leader and champion on issues such as climate action, mental health, innovations and girls in STEM.
