Indian Boxing Federation joins World Boxing

• On May 31, the Indian Boxing Federation joined the breakaway World Boxing Federation to "counter the threat" to the sport's Olympic future.

• Recently, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) warned national federations affiliated with the International Boxing Association (IBA) that they would not be able to participate in the Los Angeles Olympics if boxing was included in their programme.

• In June 2023, the IOC stripped the IBA of its recognition, saying it had failed to complete reforms on governance, finance and ethical issues.
