• Karthik Venkataraman won the 61st National Chess Championship.

• Karthik, Ganguly and Nilash Saha finished on nine points after 11 rounds in the 61st National Chess Championship.

• The tie was broken using the Buchholz system after finishing in this order.

• The 61st National Chess Championship was organised by the Haryana Chess Association at the RPS International School in Gurgaon.

• Karthik received a trophy and a cash prize of Rs six lakh (approximately US$7,150).
