- Mr Ishiba has won the second round against hardline nationalist Sanae Takaichi.
- Mr Ishiba got 215 votes while Mr Takaichi got 194 votes.
- Mr Ishiba will take over as the next Prime Minister (PM) after the Parliament session begins in October.
