Japan's new prime minister

• Liberal Democratic Party leader Shigeru Ishiba will become the next Prime Minister of Japan.

• Mr Ishiba has won the second round against hardline nationalist Sanae Takaichi.

• Mr Ishiba got 215 votes while Mr Takaichi got 194 votes.

• Mr Ishiba will take over as the next Prime Minister (PM) after the Parliament session begins in October.
