18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas

• The 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas will be organised by Odisha from January 8 to 10, 2025 in Bhubaneswar.

• The proposal sent by the Union Ministry of External Affairs in this regard has been approved by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

• The event will be attended by President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several Union Ministers and other dignitaries including the Chief Minister of Odisha.

• Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) is celebrated every year on January 9.

• Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is celebrated to commemorate the arrival of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi to India from South Africa on January 9, 1915.
