• World Post Day is celebrated every year on October 9.

• It is celebrated to mark the anniversary of the founding of the Universal Postal Union in Bern, Switzerland in 1874.

• In 2024, the Universal Postal Union (UPU) is celebrating its 150th anniversary.

• In 1969, the Universal Postal Congress in Tokyo declared October 9 as World Post Day.

• The theme of this year’s World Post Day is “150 years of enabling communication and empowering people across nations”.
