India's first AI data bank

  • On November 20, 2024, Union Minister of Science and Technology Jitendra Singh launched India’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) “INDIA-DSIR AI DATA BANK” data bank during the 7th edition of ASSOCHAM AI Leadership Meet 2024.
  • This AI data bank has been launched with the aim of empowering India’s AI sector and strengthening the country’s position in AI innovations globally.
  • The main objective of this data bank is to collect and preserve high-quality, diverse, and large-scale data to develop AI systems in the Indian context.
  • This data bank will provide data on various sectors such as agriculture, medicine, transportation, smart cities, and language, making AI models more effective in solving Indian problems.
