- President Draupadi Murmu has appointed 1989 batch IAS officer Sanjay Murthy as the new Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India.
- Currently, Murthy is the Secretary, Department of Higher Education in the Union Education Ministry.
- He replaced Girish Chandra Murmu, who retired on November 20.
- Girish Chandra Murmu assumed charge on August 8, 2020.
