President of the Asian Development Bank

• The Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has elected Masato Kanda as the President of ADB.

• He is currently serving as a Special Adviser to the Prime Minister and Finance Minister of Japan.

• He will complete the remaining term of President Asakawa, which ends on 23 November 2026.

• ADB is established as a regional development bank. It is headquartered in Manila, Philippines.

• The bank runs 31 regional offices around the world to promote social and economic development in Asia.
