• Hyderabad's Divith Reddy became the champion of the Under-8 World Cadets Chess Championship.

• He scored 9/11 points, equal with compatriot Satwik Swain.

• Divith Reddy won the gold medal on the basis of his tie-break score. His FIDE rating is 1784 points.

• He was in a triangular contest with compatriot Satwik and China's Jiming Guo.
