- On January 29, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd announced that its board has approved the re-appointment of Hisashi Takeuchi as managing director and chief executive officer for a period of three years.
- His term will be effective from April 1, 2025, and continue till March 31, 2028.
- Maruti Suzuki had first appointed Takeuchi as managing director and chief executive officer from April 1, 2022, after the completion of the term of his predecessor Kenichi Ayukawa on March 31, 2022.
- He has been on the board of Maruti Suzuki since July 2019 and served as joint managing director (commercial) from April 2021 until his promotion.
