Madhya Pradesh became the state with the highest number of vultures in the country

  • The Forest Department recently conducted a state-level census of vultures, and their number has increased to 12,981.
  • Vultures in Madhya Pradesh were counted in 16 circles, 64 divisions and 9 protected areas of the state forest department.
  • The number of vultures in Madhya Pradesh is continuously increasing.
  • In the census of the year 2019, the number of vultures was 8 thousand 397, which increased to 10 thousand 845 in the year 2024.
  • Vulture census was started in the state in the year 2016.
