Ayurveda Day

  • The Government of India has officially set the date of September 23 for Ayurveda Day.
  • The change has been implemented through a gazette notification issued on March 23, 2025.
  • Earlier, Ayurveda Day was celebrated on Dhanteras, which follows a changing lunar calendar.
  • The goal of Ayurveda Day is to promote Ayurveda as a scientific, evidence-based healthcare system.
  • The date of Dhanteras changes every year, making it difficult to fix a fixed date for Ayurveda Day.
