Para-archer Harvinder Singh awarded Padma Shri

  • Para-archer Harvinder Singh was conferred the Padma Shri award by President Draupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on May 27.
  • His journey began from a small village in Haryana, where he overcame childhood disability to become a world-class archer.
  • He took up archery in 2012 under the guidance of coach Jivanjot Singh Teja and made his international debut in 2017.
  • Harvinder won the first gold medal for India in para-archery at the 2018 Asian Para Games in Jakarta.
