  • On June 16, he died in Thiruvananthapuram after a prolonged illness at the age of 74.
  • Muthu had worked as a senior scientist at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.
  • During his tenure at ISRO, he worked closely with former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.
  • He was renowned as a science communicator, writing over 70 books on science and literature.
